AN UNIDENTIFIED body was found in a canefield at Ellingham, a few metres away from the R612 Ixopo main road near Umzinto Correctional Services last Wednesday.
When police found the body, they had discovered that the man’s hands were missing.

“Both the man’s hands had been chopped off above the wrists and he had an open wound on the back of his head,” said Scottburgh communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
Anyone with relative information or who is able to identify the man, is asked to contact Detective Warrant Officer Brian Khoza at 039-9746500.
The man’s hands have not been found.
