A PORT Edward pastor is one of two men reported missing after failing to return from a hike in the Umtamvuna gorge yesterday.
According to reports, Pastor Willie Henning (70) and Dr Collier van Rensburg (45) from Empangeni had set off on the Nkona trail at 8.20am yesterday.
The alarm was raised at 8pm last night when a guard noticed the pair had failed to return from what was supposed to be an eight-hour hike.
“Pastor Henning was wearing a red and white T-shirt and khaki shorts while Dr van Rensburg was dressed in a blue T-shirt and was carrying a black and red backpack,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.
He added that the men had parked their vehicle at the Umtamvuna river before setting off on the hike.
The search was called off at 2.30am due to bad weather, but resumed at 6.30am today.
