PORT Edward police are investigating a case of murder after a 35 year old man was found lying dead in bed at a house in Port Edward on Tuesday this week.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing at around 1am, and found Dumisani Ghetto Shusha dead in bed. According to police spokesman Captain Vincent Pandarum, “Alex Raymond Chappen (25) handed himself over to police at the scene. He was arrested and detained pending his appearance in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court.”
Shusha had bled profusely from a stab wound to his leg and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The post-mortem confirmed that an artery had been severed. The case is being investigated by Lieutenant Koos Marx from the Port Edward Detective Service.
