WATCH: Armed robbers hit hair salon

THE same men may also be linked to a business robbery in Park Rynie on October 15.

The manager of a hair salon told the Mail: “It was just before closing time. I was standing outside near the entrance when I was approached by three men.”

He sensed that something was amiss but, unfortunately, it was too late. He was forced into the shop at both gun and knife point.
Three employees were in the salon at the time.

Two of the suspects continued to threaten the employees, while the third ordered the manager to hand over some R2 000 in cash.

According to the manager, the robbers were in and out within a minute.

“I can confirm that the same suspects have been arrested before for numerous cases, ranging from house robbery and house breaking to business robbery. In some cases, charges were withdrawn,” said police spokesman, Lt-Col Zandra Wiid.

HAIR salons are known as being great places to catch up on gossip, but tongues must have REALLY got wagging when three men, aged 19, 29 and 40 respectively, were arrested while having their hair cut last Friday.

Police spokesman, Lieutenent-Colonel Zandra Wiid, said that information was received about three ‘suspicious men’ seen carrying bags at the Port Shepstone taxi rank.

Members from the Port Shepstone 10111 Call Centre response unit and K9 unit responded and arrested the three in a hair salon. They face charges of house robbery and possession of stolen property.

The men were found with items thought to have been stolen during a robbery in Park Rynie earlier that day.

The knives which were seized are suspected to be those used to stab one of the female occupants of the home where the robbery took place.

Lt-Col Wiid said that the 24-year-old woman had been multiple times and was take to GJ Crookes Hospital.
