Dog rescue mission needs your help

Recent donations have certainly helped.

HARMONY Hill Animal Hotel in Sea Park, which has some 140 cats and kittens, and many dogs looking for ‘forever homes’, needs your help and support.

Owners of Harmony Hill, Renate Haussman and Penny Taylor, have recently partnered with Four Paws and Tale based in Scottburgh. Together they have erected an amazing rescue mission called Harmony Hill Rescue Dogs, catering for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs.

Renate and Penny also run Harmony Hill’s Cat Cradle for abandoned cats.

If you are unable to adopt a cat, you can cyber adopt a cat for R50 a month, or even provide a foster home to a mother and her kittens. The dogs are also needing bedding and strong toys.

Harmony Hill’s rescue dogs have been recently blessed with some generous donations.

At the recent Hibiscus Kennel Club Show members of the dog carting fraternity donated 90 kilograms of first rate premium quality dog food which was greatly appreciated.

“We want to thank all the carters from Durban and surrounds for their constant support and wonderful donation,” said Renate .

Other generous donors have been from Richard Lebetti from M Projects who has kindly donated six kennels towards the rescue mission, and Chantel Hulley from Bembridge Farm Butchery in Umzumbe who has donated a huge amount of bone meal.

“The monthly donations into our bank account are greatly appreciated. Some of you we know and others we don’t, but thank you to each and everyone,” said Renate.

If you are thinking of adopting a cat, kitten or dog there are plenty to choose from at Harmony Hill.

Renate is also wanting to build a plastic bottle house with recycled two litre bottles, and she will pick up the bottles from anywhere along the coast.

Cash donations to help with the purchasing of food are always welcome.
