MTB bridge named after Burry Stander
It is an impressive feature, it has to be said.
A BRIDGE which forms part of the San Lameer Estate MTB and Trail Fun Run has been named after the late Burry Stander.
At the recent MTB and trail run, managing director Pine Pienaar asked the cycling star’s mother Mandie for approval to name the bridge after Burry, which was duly forthcoming.
So, it will now officially be known as the Burry Stander Bridge.
It serves as a landmark to keep Burry’s memory alive.
Further, San Lameer donated R10 000 towards the Burry Stander Foundation, which serves to develop young riders.
On Monday last week, Burry’s parents Charles and Mandie cut the ribbon to declare the bridge ‘open’.
