On May 20 last year, Dlamini was having a drink with Mbongeni Ntobela (30) and the woman (40) in Shobashobane, Izingolweni.

The woman and Ntobela went to sleep and, when she woke up, she discovered Ntobela on the floor, covered in blood. He had been stabbed multiple times.

Dlamini produced a box of matches and ordered her to set the bed alight. He then dragged her from the burning room.

He raped her and and stabbed her again several times.

He then left her in a stream where she pretended to be dead.

When she was sure that Dlamini had left, she crawled to a nearby house for help. The police were called. but Dlamini had fled to Verulam, Durban, where he burgled a house.

On May 5 this year Dlamini was arrested by Verulam police.
