Woman shot dead at home

Several family members scrambled to escape the shooting.

COMMUNITY members are still in shock after the shooting of Ntokozo Lubanyana (38) last night.

Lubanyana died in a hail of bullets at her home at Kwa-Xaba area in Gamalakhe.

She is the sister of Hibiscus Coast Municipality executive council member and Lower South Coast region ANC Women’s League secretary, Mosley Lubanyana.

The gunmen apparently knocked at Lubanyana’s door. When she asked who was there, they refused to identify themselves and opened fire through the door.

Several family members jumped through windows to try and escape the gunfire.

According to Margate SAPS spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, the incident occurred around 10pm.

“Lubanyana was shot at three times in the body and twice in the hand,” he said.

The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.

No arrests have been made yet and police are still investigating.
