Toddler injured in N2 accident

Three pedestrians were killed over the weekend.

FIVE people, including an 18 month old child, were injured when a car overturned on the N2 near Hibberdene last Saturday afternoon.

Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha said two people were seriously injured while three others escaped with minor injuries.

Medics from Netcare 911, Medivac and the provincial services stabilised the injured at the scene before taking them to them to a hospital in Port Shepstone.

In a separate accident, a man was seriously injured last Friday when the vehicle he was driving overturned on the  on the R61 under the Wartski Road bridge in Margate.

After the man was stabilised at the scene he was taken to hospital.

In addition, a number of pedestrians were involved in accidents over the weekend.

  • A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was knocked down in Bhobhoyi last Friday.
  • Two people were killed and another two seriously injured after they were knocked down by a car in Murchison last Saturday.
  • A pedestrian was killed on the R102 in Turton near Hibberdene yesterday (Sunday)

Traffic officials have warned pedestrians to be cautious when crossing roads. They are urged to wear bright clothing when walking at night or in rainy conditions.
