Hibberdene man found bound and gagged

The stolen car was found abandoned near the Mozambique border.

FOUR armed thugs bound and gagged a 30-year-old man in Hibberdene last Wednesday before robbing him.

The thieves, who are still at large, broke into the house after jumping over a fence. “They were armed with firearms and a knife,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

The intruders  took cash, personal items, a TV, a laptop and cellphones before fleeing in a car belonging to the man’s relative.

The man, still bound and gagged, was discovered when the relative returned to the house later that night.

The vehicle was later found abandoned near the Mozambique border.

“No arrests have yet been made, although police are following up on information,” said Lt-Col Wiid.

Hibberdene police are investigating.
