Dramatic rescue for two men after crash

PARAMEDICS and emergency services rescued two men from a steep embankment earlier this afternoon after the bakkie in which they were travelling  crashed near Izingolweni.

Rescuers from the SAPS Search and Rescue and Hibiscus Coast fire department also responded.

This is according to Rob Mckenzie, spokesman for KwaZulu-Natal EMS, who explained that the bakkie plunged some 40 plus metres down the embankment, overturning several times.

“Both men were ejected from the vehicle and were found lying a few metres  from the vehicle.”

One of the men  was critically injured, while the other suffered serious injuries.

“They were winched up the embankment in a rescue stretcher,” he added.
