Suspect arrested after stabbing and killing man in Meyerton

Police launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed and killed in Meyerton recently.

MEYERTON. – The policeĀ  have arrested a 33-year-old murder suspect at a filling station in Kookrus.

It is believed that the man is responsible for stabbing and killing a white male person on Saturday 26 November inĀ Pierneef Road in Meyerton.

Police spokesperson Constable Tlaleng Moloi confirms that a murder case docket was launched following the gruesome incident.

Moloi says, “An investigation by the Meyerton SAPS together with the Midvaal Local Municipality Peace Officers led to the arrest of the suspect. On Monday 28 November, police arrested the man at Engen filling station Kookrus in Meyerton.”

Moloi reports that members from Meyerton SAPS and Midvaal peace officers have been working tirelessly to identify and ensure a swift apprehension of the suspect.

“Meyerton station commander Moeti Victor Lepitla has welcomed the arrest and applauds members for an excellent job.

“The arrested suspect will make an appearance in court soon,” Moloi concludes
