TV weekly must watch

We’ve rounded up three great shows you should keep an eye out for this week.

Beat the Janu-worry blues with a tongue-in-cheek sketch comedy. Then move over to a drama that follows a therapist who doles out advice during a crisis in her own life. Or watch a martial arts comedy-drama that’s a sequel to the original The Karate Kid films.

Body copy: If the titles of uproarious sketches like The Delhi Tubbies, Not Saving Private Narayan and The Six Million Rupee Man tickle your curiosity, you’ll fall hard for Goodness Gracious Me. Sending up British-Asian stereotypes with mischievous glee, this classic series will have you in stitches. It stars husband-and-wife comedy duo Sanjeev Bhaskar and Meera Syal, who both went on to feature in the hit comedy series The Kumars at No. 42. Sketch comedy at its hilarious best! Watch Goodness Gracious Me Season 2 from January 6 on BritBox.

From 2008-2010, In Treatment won Emmys for a fairly simple format: A therapist in session with various patients, then an episode that examines the inner life of the therapist him/ herself. Ten years after the third season aired, a fourth season has been created. Now the therapist is being played by Uzo Aduba, and the office is her beautiful modern home, due to the pandemic. Binge In Treatment S4 from January 1 on Showmax.

Cobra Kai takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. Season 4 finds the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang dojos joining forces to take down Cobra Kai at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament … and whoever loses must hang up their gi. As Samantha and Miguel try to maintain the dojo alliance and Robby goes all in at Cobra Kai, the fate of the Valley has never been more precarious. What tricks does Kreese have up his sleeve? Can Daniel and Johnny bury their decades-long hatchet to defeat Kreese? Or will Cobra Kai become the face of karate in the valley? Cobra Kai S4 is now showing on Netflix.
