AA predicts adjustment in the fuel price

Without fuel, the economy will starve.

Fortunately, with no fuel shortages expected and a reopened and stable N3, this will not happen.

However, this will not prevent an adjustment to the price of fuel.

“The current picture shows petrol increasing by around four cents a litre. On the upside, diesel is indicating a decrease of 16 cents, with illuminating paraffin down by 10 cents,” the AA said.

“Oil fell throughout the first week of August, flattened out, and subsequently fell further. If this trend is maintained, there is a possibility of price decreases for all fuel grades by month-end. This would bring some welcome relief after last month’s heavy increases.”

“This should improve oil price stability throughout August,” the AA said, “although it could be countered by Covid-19-related uncertainty as new variants of the disease affect economic activity worldwide.”
