EVATON. – The Evaton community nearby Masemene’s General Dealer woke up in the middle of the night to find that the 54-year-old owner was trapped inside his place of business on Friday.

In the early hours of the morning Keketso Masemene was found dead inside the shop, which was still on fire. He was found with multiple scars on his head and body. It is believed that he was left in the shop to die in the fire. Four of his vehicles were also left in ashes.
“There is nothing to show for our brother’s (Keketso) hard work.
“The shop was completely destroyed and he was left to burn like trash,” said a younger brother to the deceased, Motlatsi Masemene.
An uncle by the name of Masemene said it was around 03:00 in the early hours of the morning when he received a call about Keketso’s death.
“As a family we still cannot make sense of his death. Why should he be killed like this?” asked his uncle. Police spokesperson Captain Aubrey Moopeloa confirms that two cases were opened and are being investigated. “Police opened arson and murder cases which are both being investigated,” said Moopeloa.
