The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, 19 April, at a railway station in Vryburg. According to information, a police official attached to K9 Unit made a follow-up on a tip-off about a man suspected to be dealing in dagga.

When he saw the police official, the suspect allegedly dropped a carry bag that he was carrying and fled. The police officer called for back-up. Vryburg SAPS chased the suspect for a short distance before arresting him.
The police searched the suspect’s bag and found 146 fingers of dagga weighing 3kg with an estimated street value of R11000.00
