The Herald has previously shone the spotlight on Thembeka Mpako Wittes, a traditional musician from Wedela with an authentic African Xhosa sound. She hails from the Eastern Cape. The artist’s newest project is a compilation of four songs from three artists. She worked with Tshomaba le Donki and Jika Sibekane, both of whom also come from EC.

It took a week for the project to be completed and recorded at the same studios. Thembeka fans can nominate her for the following categories: Best female artist, Best Isixhosa album, Best Maskhandi album and Best song of the year for her new song called “Bantwana Bam” which is featured on the compilation.The Merafong community can vote by SMS’ing SATMA Thembeka Wittes (as well as the category) to 34066. SMS’s cost R1.50 each and you can SMS as many times as you would like.
