FOUR PRIVILEGES THAT ARE GIVEN BY GOD

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. (John 10:9)

Jesus is the way to God Himself. Those who come to God through Him get four privileges:

1) “He will be saved”

The manslayer passed the gate of the city of refuge, and was safe.

Noah entered the door of the ark, and was secure. No one can be lost if Jesus is the door of faith to their souls.

Entrance through Him guarantees entrance into heaven. He is the only door, open, wide and safe; and blessed is he who puts his hope of glory in the crucified Redeemer.

“Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into the grace in which we now stand.

And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1-2)

2) “He will come in”

He will go in among the divine family, sharing the children’s bread, and participating in their honours and enjoyment.

He will go in to the chambers of communion, the banquets of love, the treasures of the covenant and the storehouses of promises.

He will go to the King of kings in the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1)

3) “He will go out”

We go out into the world to labour and suffer, but we go in the name and power of Jesus!

We are called to bear witness to the truth, cheer the downtrodden, warn the careless, win souls and glorify God; and as the angel said to Gideon, “Go in the strength you have” In the same way the Lord wants us to go as His messengers.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

4) “He will find pasture”

He who knows Jesus shall not want. In fellowship with God he will grow, and in serving others he will be served. Having made Jesus his all, he will find all in Jesus.

His soul will be as a watered garden, and as a well of water.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
