La Masia and Hungry Lions in the entertaining fixture

Josephs expressed his disappointment with the outcome, especially considering the numerous scoring opportunities his team had.

SEDIBENG.- Hungry Lions and NB La Masia ignited Isak Steyl Stadium in a thrilling Motsepe Foundation Championship clash on a Friday afternoon.

The stadium was buzzing with energy as fans from both sides enjoyed an entertaining match. Despite the 4-0 final score, both teams showcased an exhilarating, fast-paced attacking style of football. Hungry Lions nearly capitalised on numerous opportunities, delighting the enthusiastic crowd in attendance.

NB La Masia Coach, Moeneeb Josephs, who is also a former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, couldn’t believe his eyes as his team conceded four goals despite playing well and creating clear-cut opportunities that unfortunately went unconverted.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport after the game, Josephs expressed his disappointment with the outcome, especially considering the numerous scoring opportunities his team had, particularly in the first half.

Josephs reflected on the missed chances and said: “What do you do when you miss clear-cut chances with only the goalkeeper to beat? In the first half, we dominated the game and could have gone into half-time leading 3-1, but we couldn’t capitalise on the chances we created. Nevertheless, I’m proud of my boys; they played well, but luck was not on our side today.”
