Top podium finishes was the order of the day at the annual tar oval club championship prize giving held at The Rock Raceway on Sunday 6th December 2015. A first in Motorsport history on the tar oval in SA to have 3 young ladies take top honours in their division Kids In Racing SA Ninja Class aged 3 to 12 years old.

Racing their 60cc karts designed for kids these young ladies are a force to be reckoned with.

Out driving the boys with consistency throughout the year has paid off for these three young ladies.

Taking top podium spot for the Rock Raceway Club Championship series, Potchefstroom resident Marlie Saaiman aka “Blondie” has achieved various championship titles both at (MSA) Motorsport South Africa and (WOMZA) World Of Motorsport ZA championship series. Last year Marlie was crowned ZA3 at the WOMZA championship series and this year Marlie was awarded SA3 in the MSA series. This is the 2nd year in a row that Marlie has won the Rock Raceway Club Championship title. Big thank you to her folks for diving long distances to support their daughter in racing.

A very tight battle between Marlie and young Megan Kotze aka “Rowdy Megz” was also down to a few points for the podium spots. Boksburg’s resident Megan was awarded SA 2 at MSA and ZA3 at WOMZA this year. Young Megan took 2nd place in the Rock Raceway Club Championships for 2015. Megan was also awarded the Jnr Sportsman of The Year for Oval at the Rock Raceway this year.

Nipping at the heels of Marlie and Megan was another Boksburg resident young Annelia Marias aka “Nielie” as she drove her heart out in her Ninja Kart to take 3rd place for the Club Championship series at the Rock Raceway this year. Consistency paid off for young Annelia in the end still outsmarting the boys to victory lane. These three ladies are going places in Motorsport, out of a field of 12 to 20 karts at times, they have to drive their socks off and hot foot their way around the oval.
We wish all three young ladies a safe and speedy way forward in Motorsport for the 2016 season, keep up the good hard racing girls.
