DVD of the week: The hunger games: Mockingjay part 2

6½/10 for the final Hunger Games film...

Once again Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) proves to the people of all 13 districts of war-ridden Panem that a revolution is necessary in order to assure a better life for all.
Throughout the Hunger Games trilogy, Katniss fights either to escape or survive the cunning ways of Panem President Snow.
In this final chapter of the fantasy series by author Suzanne Collins, the tables have turned, and instead of being the victim, Katniss decides to take justice into her own hands in an attempt to assassinate President Snow.
She teams up with a group of her closest friends including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin) and even Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) who is still at times hostile towards Katniss.
They embark on the ultimate mission to infiltrate the Capital and liberate the people of Panem by assassinating their opressor.
The mission, however, is not as easy as they hoped since Snow would do anything in his power (and he has a lot of power) to kill Katniss.
What awaits the small group of rebels are mortal traps and dangerous circumstances that force them to have to make very difficult choices in order to complete their mission.
This thrilling final chapter of the Hunger Games trilogy is sure to leave a mark. It concludes everything that Katniss has been working towards achieving and at the end leaves you longing for more.
*The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 has an age restriction of PG13 and contains scenes of violence.*
I would rate this movie 6½/10. Even though it was action-packed and emotional, it lacked the climax one would expect from the series’ finale.
The hunger games: Mockingjay part 2 is available for rent at DVD4home on the corner of Retief and Govan Mbeki streets. Tel: (018) 293 3895.
