Fashion of the week: Living the simple life

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Leonardo da Vinci’s wise words inspire me daily. We live in a world where people always want more, do more and want to be more.
In the last few months I have gained a new-found respect for a more simplistic lifestyle and it can be seen clearly in my personal fashion style as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love accessories and handbags, of course, but, to me, less is becoming more every day. One of the best ways to achieve a “less is more” look is by wearing a jumpsuit. My friends usually cringe when I mention the word, but there are a perfect style and silhouette of jumpsuit for every shape. I recently bought 3 of them and it’s quickly becoming my go-to clothing item.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when buying a jumpsuit:
• It’s important to know whether you are going to wear heels/wedges or flats with the jumpsuit. This will determine the width of the pants part of it. If you are going for a palazzo type of look (like the blue jumpsuit) it is best to wear heels due to the slimming effect they have.The bodice of the jumpsuit is where different styles can be incorporated. Keep in mind that you have to wear something you feel comfortable in. The black jumpsuit has a more risqué bodice than the blue one.
• Although a jumpsuit is the epitome of effortless and elegant fashion, you can still jazz it up with accessories. This is where you reveal your own personal style.
• The most important, tip I can give you is to never give up on your jumpsuit search – there is a jumpsuit out there for every lady and, once you get it, you won’t be able to imagine your life without it.
