VEREENIGING.- The Uniting Reformed Church in Southern Africa (URCSA) Northern Synod Convention will spread a message of hope at their Synod Convention to be held on May 11 at the Vereeniging Civic Hall.
The church’s Nolwandle Utloa said that this year’s theme, “God will hear us,” will capture the essence of hope and resilience that communities need.
“Through soul-stirring worship, powerful keynote addresses, and interactive discussions, the convention aims to inspire faith and action in addressing society’s challenges. We are also honoured to have extended invitations to the Executive Mayor of the Sedibeng District Municipality and the Premier of Gauteng, Honourable Panyaza Lesufi, to join this significant occasion,” Utloa explained.
She added that the highlights of the event include engaging sessions with influential speakers and unique opportunities for communal worship that promise to leave a lasting impact on all attendees.
Meanwhile before the event, the church members will embark on a “Clean Vereeniging” campaign that aims to rid the town if its current filthy status.
“We will be engaging different stakeholders, together with the community, to clean the town. There is rubbish everywhere in this town, at every corner you turn there is rubbish. We want the town to be clean and regain its former state of cleanliness. The dates to these campaigns will be communicated soon,” Utloa said.
