Zone 10 Ext 2 residents in darkness for the past few weeks

“This situation put their health in danger and is a recurring issue that happens only to us in this area."

SEBOKENG.- The Zone 10 Extension 2 residents have been in darkness for the past few weeks. This was reported to Sedibeng Ster by one of the frustrated members of the community by the name of Mohlale Mothae.

Mothae said it has been weeks without electricity due to the regular load shedding and power outages caused by Eskom. He claimed that the green boxes are left open and to make matters worse it is closed with buckets of water. Mothae said the senior citizens have been affected by this since their medication requires a certain cold temperature which necessitates the use of a fridge.

He also told Sedibeng Ster that children have to bathe in cold water because there is no electricity. He said it is not yet winter but with this rainy weather children find it difficult to cope bathing in cold water.

“This situation puts our health in danger and is a recurring issue that happens only to us in this area. We are facing problems with sewage causing water damage in our houses and ruining our furniture Our ward councillor Mr Kolisang has tried his best to help. We are sick and tired of this situation especially since we pay taxes for services, not to mention the bonds we pay. We also have to deal with stress that causes damage to our cars. As a community we ask for help, we are tired,” he told Sedibeng Ster.

Sedibeng Ster will follow up with the relevant authorities.
