Palesa Bongo needs your assistance

"I have confidence that the Good Samaritans will come forward not to help me only, but other selected players.”

SEBOKENG.- Palesa Bongo (20) is among 12 players selected for the Sedibeng Netball Team.

The selected player will represent Sedibeng District in the 2024 Spar National Netball Championships set to take place at Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg from December 1-7. However, with the Sedibeng Netball Team not having a sponsor, each player is requested to raise (pay) an amount of R4 050.

This is for accommodation, transport, meals, warm up tops and tracksuits. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Bongo pleaded for help, especially with local businesses, to come to her rescue to raise the money. She has been a consistent performer for her team for the past two years. Even though it is not the first time, Bongo said it is always a great feeling to present her region at this level.

“It is every player’s dream to represent her region at this level of the competition. I really feel honoured and humble to be part of the selected players and I will do everything in my power to see to it that I raise the necessary funds.I’m working hard doing some extra training with my coaches who is also pushing me.”

Sedibeng Netball Federation President, Fakazile Nkitseng, confirmed to Sedibeng Ster Sport about the selected players. Nkitseng also pleaded to the community and businesses to come on board to assist those selected players. It’s been a while now that the Sedibeng Netball Team has been without sponsorship as the federation rely mostly on donations.
