Real Tokyo FC hosted its annual vulnerable children’s tournament

This initiative is a first of its kind and was launched in 2017.

SEBOKENG.- Real Tokyo FC hosted its annual vulnerable children’s tournament at the Zone 15 stadium recently.

The tournament saw eight U17 teams battle it out for the prize money. Real Scientist FC were crowned the tournament champions. They received R2 000 for their effort, a trophy and medals while second place was rewarded to Hearts of Kings FC who received R1 000. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport William Mogale hailed the tournament as a great success. According to Mogale the purpose of this tournament was to create awareness as far as the vulnerable children in the community are concerned. He said football is one of the biggest platforms to address these matters in the community.

This initiative is a first of its kind and was launched in 2017.

“We are aware that our children go through a lot and some of them are raped and even killed. It is important to highlight that it is not only children, but also the elderly in the community who suffers. Our elderly people are victims of crime because most of them stay alone,” Mogale explained. “I’m happy with the support we received from the Zone 15 community and as Real Tokyo FC we want to thank everyone who made this tournament a great success especially those teams who accepted our invitation,” he concluded.
