Man shot by gunman in Quantum taxi
The victim was hit by a gunshot, while his cousin escaped unharmed.
SHARPEVILLE.- Sharpeville police are calling on the community for help after a man was shot in an attack involving a white Toyota Quantum taxi in the early hours of Sunday.
According to police the victim was walking home with his cousin on Seeiso Street when a white Toyota Quantum taxi pulled up next to them. Without warning, a man appeared from the vehicle and opened fire. The victim was hit by a gunshot, while his cousin escaped unharmed. The shooter, described as a man, fled in the Quantum. Police have yet to identify the suspect or trace the vehicle, as the registration is currently unknown.
Sharpeville police spokesperson, Constable Busisiwe Sango, confirmed the incident and urged the public to provide any information that could aid the investigation.
“We appeal to anyone who may have seen the vehicle or knows anything about this crime to come forward.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
