Evaton detective secures successful murder conviction
Tensions between the brothers had been longstanding.
EVATON.- A 21-year-old male was sentenced by the Sebokeng Magistrate’s Court for the murder of his older brother recently.
A thorough investigation was led by Detective Bheki Mkhonza after the tragic incident on the evening of in May 28, 2023, in Evaton West. Police responded to a call and found the 29-year-old deceased with a stab wound to his chest. Emergency services declared him dead on the scene.
Evaton Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi confirmed that tensions between the brothers had been longstanding. According to Mkhonza the accused frequently harassed his older brother, accusing him of being favoured by their parents. The accused was arrested immediately after the incident.
Mkhonza’s relentless efforts in the investigation ensured a conviction, bringing justice to the case.
