One year imprisonment for man who assaulted girlfriend with beer bottle

He was sentenced to one year direct imprisonment.

MEYERTON. – A man was sentenced to 12 months direct imprisonment after assaulting his girlfriend with a bottle of beer.

Thokozani Seshia (36) was found guilty on charges of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm after going to the complainant’s residence in an intoxicated state and assaulting her with a bottle of beer.

The complainant suffered facial injuries.

Seshia was arrested on 24 June, after which he was charged with assault with intent to do grieviously bodily harm.

The case was assigned to detective officer Constable Myeni.

The Station Commander of Meyerton SAPS Colonel Senzangakhona Christopher Mohale expressed his gratitude and appreciation to detective officer Constable Myeni for the good work.

“It is through thorough investigation by the detective that justice was served and Thokozani was then convicted for received one year imprisonment.
