High-Density Operation in Vereeniging

Other suspects were arrested for crimes that range from house robbery to bribery.

VEREENIGING.- Gauteng Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Fred Kekana led yet another successful High-Density Operation in Vereeniging, Sedibeng District, where more than forty suspects were arrested for various crimes yesterday.
The operation started with the roadblock where police were searching for illicit goods and substances. This is where the police arrested undocumented persons and seized an unlicensed firearm as well as illicit cigarettes. A Hyundai H100 was impounded after it was found with engine numbers that are tempered with.
Other suspects were arrested for crimes that range from house robbery to bribery.
Thereafter, the Acting Provincial Commissioner, together with the Sedibeng Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Mbangwa Nkhwashu, proceeded to Vereeniging Taxi Rank, where they engaged with the community on issues of crime in the area. The community raised their concerns and highlighted crimes that they feel police should concentrate on minimising in the vicinity.
