SEDIBENG.- Orlando Pirates’ babies welcome the newly promoted Magesi. This much-anticipated DSTV Diski Challenge (DDC) is scheduled to take place at Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday.
Kickoff is at 10:00.
However, later of the day, the focus will be on the senior team with Pirates set to play in the MTN8 final against Stellenbosch at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Back to DDC games… Pirates come into this wekend’s game limping after they suffered a 3-0 defeat against TS Galaxy last weekend.
Megasi also lost their game against Kaizer Chiefs, 1-0 on Sunday. Pirates will be looking for a win to close the gap at the top with Kaizer Chiefs sitting at the summit of the log with 12 points. Pirates is in sixth place with eight points, while Megasi is ranked at number 8. Both these teams have played five games. It will be interesting to see who will earn three points this coming Saturday.
Currently, Pirates seems to be the favourite to collect the maximum number of points. The magnitude of this game on our doorstep is as big as the senior game, based on the club’s brand in South African football. The Vaal soccer fans are expected to fill the venue to capacity to watch their beloved babies.
