LMS Academy brings Two Touch FC down on their knees

“We started well but missing the penalty demoralised the boys."

SEDIBENG.- LMS Academy brought the log leaders Two Touch FC down on their knees.

This was after LMS Academy beat them 3-0 in the mouthwatering Emfuleni Development League match played at the Santa sports ground on Saturday. Two Touch FC came into this encounter with their tails up leading the log standing with 21 points after they played seven games.

However, the home team made their intention clear as they showed no mercy. Two Touch FC had a golden opportunity to take the lead in the opening minutes of the game when the referee awarded them a penalty. However, they failed to convert the penalty. Not long after they missed the penalty, LMS Academy found the back of the net after a brilliant run from their marksman up front. At this stage, LMS Academy showed dominance, toying around with their opponents who never offered resistance.

It came as no surprise when they scored a second goal, but it was clearly a flood of goals with LMS Academy scoring a third time. Despite the win, LMS is still third on the log with 18 points with Two Touch FC dropping to second position on the log. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Two Touch FC’s coach Lebohang Mokoena said it was not their day. He said missing a penalty was the factor that decided the game.

“We started well but missing the penalty demoralised the boys. I thought we could have done much better, but the boys will learn that if you don’t take your chances, you will be punished. But this defeat is water under the bridge and we are looking forward to the next game,” said Mokoena.
