ANC Sedibeng mourns passing of Maditsi

“We dip our revolutionary banners in paying tribute to him."

VEREENIGING.- The African National Congress (ANC) Ward 15, Pixley ka Seme branch in Vereeniging is in mourning.

The party woke up to the tragic news of the death of ANC branch Deputy Chair who also served before as Chairperson of ANC Youth League (ANCYL), Victor Maditsi who was affectionately known as Mokone on Thursday morning.

Branch Media Liaison Officer, Harry Maleka said that a spear has fallen.

“Today we woke up with the tragic news that the spear has fallen at our branch. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of former ANCYL Chairperson at the branch, Comrade Victor Maditsi, affectionately known as Mokone in political circles of the ANC in Sedibeng Region,” explained Maleka.

Maleka further said that that the 39-year-old Maditsi was shot in the early hours of the morning at a gate where he stayed. Further details about his death had not been revealed at the time of going to print.

“We dip our revolutionary banners in paying tribute to him, a larger life activist who grew within the ranks of the ANC. We have already communicated with his family and further arrangement will be communicated as per their wishes,” Maleka said.
