This event took place in Sandton, Johannesburg in August. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Xekwa said some of her responsibilities for the competition included charity work in the community. This mother of three children told Sedibeng Ster that she is passionate about changing lives of ordinary people within the community. She believed there is a serious need to get involved in empowering the community especially young women. Xekwa told Sedibeng Ster that she involved with a non-profit organisation under the leadership of Thembi Maisela who is the founder member.

“The organisation advocates for the people with disability in our community. It is our responsibility to create awareness that people with disabilities are also people. It was easy for me to embarked on charity work because of my experience working with disability people. I know in some families if we have people with disability, we hide them because we think it is sin to have people like them. God had purpose with them when he created them and those families with people with disabilities must to feel ashamed,” she concluded.
