SEBOKENG – The Annual Heist of Combos U12 Diski Challenge is scheduled to take place at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14 from September 21-28. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the tournament director Machael Mathinye.
This initiative is aimed to address the lack of structured development soccer in Sedibeng. Mathinye told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the tournament will also provide young soccer players with the opportunity to compete at a well organised event.
“We believe that Heist of Combos Diski Challenge will help to revive the popularity of soccer in Vaal. We also believe that the tournament will help to identify and develop the young stars who have potential to reach great heights in football. This tournament is the right platform for them to showcase their talent.
“We are passionate about the development of football and we are committed to provide these youngsters with the opportunity to achieve their dreams. We believe Heist of Combo Diski Challenge is a step in a right direction, and we are excited to see what the future holds for the tournament,” said Mathinye.
This top 16 tournament will play a point system format before the knockout stages. Sharpeville PSG are the defending champions of this competition.
