SEBOKENG – There was song and jubilation at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex as the uMkhonto Wesizwe Party (MKP) in the Vaal welcomed more than 100 members. The event took place last Sunday.
The MKP leadership, and members in the region, were joined by provincial leaders of the party as well as the Chiefs and leaders of its fraternal structures including the Progressive Civic Congress (PCC).
Among the party’s new members were the former Emfuleni Local Municipality Speaker Msebenzi Xeloshe, former Emfuleni Member of the Mayoral Committee for Public Safety, Veli Mcera as well as Rosa Gcantsane from the African Transformation Congress (ATC).
The new members exchanged their old T-shirts for the MKP T-shirts . The MKP Regional Coordinator, Victor Lobi welcomed the new members, calling on them to take their positions in the varied branches of the party and assume the various tasks of the party.
Speaking on behalf of the new members, Xeloshe emphasised their commitment to the mission of the MKP and highlighted that while they came together as a group, they each joined as individuals and would go and make their contributions in their varied zones and branches, in support of those already leading the party.
The MKP said it is is proud to make this steady growth as it continues to become a home to many who are ready to leave their respective political parties.
