Sedibeng hosts Gauteng Schools Wednesday Champions League

It was action packed with schools as far as from Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Heidelberg that took part.

VEREENIGING.- It was talent galore on display when Sedibeng hosted Gauteng Schools Wednesday Championship League at President Park last week.

It was action packed with schools as far as from Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Heidelberg that took part. This Gauteng Schools Champions League were hosted by the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation with the aim to revive Wednesday school sports. It was action galore throughout the day with the following sporting codes that formed part of this schools’ champions league programme, soccer both boys and girls, netball, volleyball and basketball.

Some of the schools that participated in this champions’ league include Clapham High School from Pretoria, School of Excellence also from Pretoria, Khanya Lesedi from Heidelberg, Mountainview High School amongst others in Gauteng. The Wednesday initiative was well supported by all involved. Great quality football were on display.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the Gauteng Department of Sport hailed this schools champions league a great success in an attempt to bring back those good old days of schools sports on Wednesdays.
