Phenomenal women shine at Matsie-Steyn’s Women’s Day event

The celebration brought together a diverse group of women who have broken barriers, pushed boundaries and inspired others through their remarkable achievements.

SHARPEVILLE.- Matsie-Steyn Primary School was abuzz with excitement as teachers, staff and guest speakers gathered to celebrate International Women’s Day event at the school on Friday.

The event hosted by the school principal, Majane Nhlapo, aimed to recognise and honour the phenomenal women who make a difference in lives of the children and communities.

The event was held at Matsie-Steyn Primary in Sharpeville, on Friday, August 23.

The celebration brought together a diverse group of women who have broken barriers, pushed boundaries and inspired others through their remarkable achievements. From entrepreneurs and artists to activists and educators, who embody the spirit of strength, resilience and determination that defines the essence of Women’s Day.

Through keynote addresses, panel discussions and interactive workshops, the event provided a platform for those phenomenal women to share their stories, experiences and insights. Those in attendance were inspired by the speaker’s courage, passion and dedication to creating positive change in the world.

Nhlapo the principal of the school stated the importance of celebrating Women’s Day, stating: “We must recognise and celebrate women’s achievements. We recognise women’s achievements and their contribution to the society, to raise awareness about the rights they have and gender equality. This event was to honour women’s struggles and resilience in the face of discrimination and oppression. By celebrating Women’s Day, we acknowledge made and recommit to addressing the ongoing challenges women face, ensuring a more equitable and just society for all.”
