SEDIBENG- The breaking news coming from a reliable source who claims that the Emfuleni Local Football Association and Midvaal Local Football Association Super League for 2023/2024 season might be declared null and void.
This follows after Inter Regional Play-Offs have been postponed for a third time.
The much-anticipated promotional play-offs were supposed to take place last month, but was postponed every time. Sedibeng Ster reliably learned the reasoning behind the delay.
The high placed source told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the two Local Football Associations (LFA) registered their players under MYSAFA after the registration period was closed for the Super League season.
A source, who didn’t want to mentioned for fear of been victimised, told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the two LFAs didn’t follow MYSAFA rules to register a certain number of players to beef up their squad.
However, Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that when the players’ cards came back, some of the teams claimed that a certain amount of their players we’re not registered.
As a result of this, the two LFAs decided to make, makeshift player cards for those players.
This is the main reason why the play-offs kept on being postponed.
“I know I will be in trouble because they will know I’m the one who gave this information to the media, but the truth is that the Super League in the two LFAs will be declared null and void. Do you still remember the same situation happened with SAFA Sedibeng when the Regional Men’s League was declared null and void because of something similar?,” said a source.
To date, the play-offs are suppose to produce the two teams that will be promoted to Safa Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League.
However, with the current situation the two teams from Lesedi Local Football Association will be automatically promoted to Safa Sedibeng Hollywood Regional League.
Sedibeng Ster Sport will follow up on this matter with relevant authorities to get to the bottom of the problem.
