GBVF victims need support

“Every year, every month, every day and every minute a woman is raped and killed by a man who says he loves her."

SEDIBENG.– According to Luwizi Given Mulambo, the Free State Provincial spokesperson of a Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) organisation known as Rapid Response Team (RRT) that is based in Sasolburg, GBVF is a human rights violation.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Mulambo said that the Provincial Rapid Response Team in the Free State is ready to fight GBVF. They strongly support the victims with a call to walk away from abusive relationships and have freedom from violence. RRT strongly condemned the increasing incidences of GBV and encouraged everyone to be on a mission of fighting GBVF 365 days.

“Addressing GBVF is a complex issue requiring multi-faceted responses and commitment from all, including our government. The fight against GBVF is a 365-day mission for which society and government must take action to make communities safer,” Mulambo said.

The RRT spokesperson added that they see the tears and feel the pain of those affected.

“Every year, every month, every day and every minute a woman is raped and killed by a man who says he loves her. The responsibility falls on us as a collective, to rid our province and the country of this scourge, enough is enough.”
