“We wagged and we walked and had a lot of fun, and in the process we made R40 500 for the day.”
This was how local animal activist and the force behind Fifty Shades of Spay sums up the first-ever Wag and Walk Day recently held at The Braai Wagon in Three Rivers.
The day was planned as a fundraiser for the vet account and to collect dog food for the next few outreaches planned for August and September this year.
“We had such a great turnout that we can even add October to that list now,” says Yvette Wilde.
“Once again the community has shown their commitment to animal welfare. Local businesses all donated and chipped in to help.
“The prizes far outweighed the entry fee charged and this was due to the generosity of people,” says Yvette.
“Thank you for all the enthusiasm and kindness. Thank you to all the beautiful dogs that showed up.”
