Sedibeng hosts Gauteng Women’s League

It was a great advert for women’s football with August known as Women’s Month.

VEREENIGING. – Sedibeng hosted the Gauteng Women’s Development League festival at President Park in Vereeniging on Sunday.

The entire day was action packed, and Mamelodi Sundowns and JVW closing the programme. These two teams played to a goalless draw in an entertaining match. In another game, the hosting team RESA beat Tuks Ladies FC 2-1 in another exciting league match. RESA Ladies were the first to break the deadlock, but their lead was cancelled when Tuks Ladies FC found an equaliser.

At this stage both teams tried for a second goal, with RESA Ladies eventually being crowned the winners. It was a great advert for women’s football with August known as Women’s Month.

The local community came in numbers to support these games that were live on SuperSport’s Football Channel.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport after the game, RESA Ladies FC coach, Solly Lekooana said he was pleased with his team’s impressive performance. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that this victory put them in the third position on the log.
