VAAL MARINA – A search is on at the Boschkop Fishing Resort, Vaal Dam after the disappearance of an 18-year-old man yesterday afternoon (August 11).
It is believed that the man was with a group that went fishing.
A search was launched on Sunday and resumed again this morning (August 12).
Vaal Marina SAPS spokesperson Constable Tshilidzi De Huis says: “Police were summoned to the scene following reports of a possible drowning incident.”
“On arrival, police were told that the man fell into the water and never resurfaced.”
The SAPS water wing and K9 are on the scene. Assisted by the Gauteng Traffic Wardens Air Wing.
The search is currently ongoing.
