Formula One supercar turns heads in Vereeniging

It was a treat for local Formula One fans.

VEREENIGING – Local Formula 1 fans recently had the golden opportunity to see and experience firsthand the supercar of the Oracle Red Bull Racing Team, driven by racing legends such as the Belgian-Dutch motorsports racing driver Max Verstappen and his Mexican teammate, Sergio Pérez.

The Red Bull Racing Team visited the Astron Energy Garage (Moffat’s Garage) in Duncanville in Vereeniging on August 1.

The car is on a nationwide tour and will be displayed at venues across South Africa.

From 10:00 until about 18:00 local racing fans had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the racing machine in Vereeniging.

Although touching the vehicle was strictly prohibited, fans were allowed to get close enough to truly experience this supercar and take photographs, videos and selfies of this magnificent engineering marvel.

It was a fun-filled day, which included live music and a boereworsbraai.

Lots of prizes were also up for grabs.

This is part of a drive to bring Formula One racing closer to the people.

In October the Oracle Red Bull Racing’s RB7 racing machine will also ignite Katherine Street in Sandton City, when the British Formula One racing legend, David Coulthard will put on an exhilarating showrun.

The RB7 was one of the most dominant machines in Formula 1 history, taking 18 of 19 poles and winning 12 races on the team’s way to a second Drivers’ and Constructor’ Championship double in 2011.

Oracle Red Bull Racing has been bringing the excitement of Formula 1 to cities like Santiago, Hanoi, Tokyo, Guadalajara, as well as Cape Town, and is set to return to South Africa in 2024 to thrill even more fans.
