“One was praying and the other one was lying helpless."

EVATON. – A case of culpable homicide is being investigated by the Evaton police after they received a complaint about an accident in Easton Road, Evaton, on Saturday evening.

Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi said that upon their (police) arrival they met with the owner of the house who informed them that she was inside her house when she heard a loud bang outside, and when she got out, she noticed a white bakkie had collided with her house and two women were lying on the ground.

“One was praying and the other one was lying helpless. It is alleged that both victims were passengers in the bakkie,” Msibi said.

She added that when the police arrived at the scene, they found that another injured victim had already been taken to the hospital for medical attention.

“A deceased body was also found lying near the bakkie with multiple fractures, decapitation of the head and amputation of the right-arm,” said Msibi adding that the driver of the vehicle handed himself to the police on Sunday morning.
