Soup and blanket drive a success

It was a day filled with lots of learning, gratefulness and service.

VEREENIGING. – A blanket and soup drive for underprivileged people was held at the Klipkerk in Vereeniging on Thursday, 13 June 2024.
Over 150 people, including women, children and men, were fed and received a warm blanket or jacket to keep them warm during the winter.
It was a day filled with lots of learning, gratefulness and service.
The event was attended by representatives of Claire Jones Professional Hair Artistry, also know as Inside Out, Grade 11 learners of the Fundamental Private School, Family Fun Beach and Arise Modeling and Acting Studio.
Those that contributed bread, soup, blankets and canned foods were Claire Jones Professional Hair Industry, Fundamental Private School, Family Fun Beach, Little Space Cadets and a few other individuals.
The learners had the opportunity to hand out blankets as well as soup and bread.
After a successful blanket and soup drive, everyone made a stop at the Catherine Robson Children’s Home, where attendees had the opportunity to also hand out food parcels and a few blankets to the children there.
All the attendees had the privilege of learning about the process of how kids are brought into the children’s home and they were shown how well the children are looked after and taken care of.
At the Catherine Robson Children’s Home children are provided with loving and caring caretakers and given an opportunity to strive to become successful.
