Body discovered near school

The body of the deceased was found next to the Selborne Primary School with visible wounds the next morning.

VEREENIGING. – The police are investigating a case of murder after a body with visible wounds was discovered near the Selborne Primary School on Thursday, July 4.
Captain Fikile Funda, a spokesperson for the police in Vereeniging, says the deceased, 23-year-old Sakhumuzi Nhlapo, is alleged to have been involved in an altercation with another male on the evening prior to the discovery of his body.
“It is alleged that on Wednesday 3 July at around 23:00 the deceased was with a woman, Dibuseng Katarina Moloedi, who stays at the Old Vereeniging Hospital in Kruger Street, next to the school.”
“It is further alleged that Dibuseng and the deceased were smoking Mandrax when she told him that she was looking for her key that was lost. The deceased then helped to look for the key.”
“The deceased later went to buy cigarettes. After 10 minutes a witness arrived at Dibuseng’s place. The witness says that she was with another male.”
“When the deceased returned to Dibuseng’s place, the male grabbed him and pulled him into another room and asked him why he was in Dibuseng’s room,” Funda explains.
The body of the deceased was found next to the Selborne Primary School with visible wounds the next morning.
He was declared dead on the scene.
According to Funda, a case of murder was opened.
The suspects are currently unknown.
The police have urged anyone who might have witnessed the incident or who might have information that could help solve the case, to contact the Vereeniging police.
