Italian Jobs FC does a great job

SEBOKENG.- Mighty Flowers FC soccer ground in Zone 10 was the place to be when Mpho Ya Rona Community Center in conjunction with Boiketlong Islam and Sports Academy hosted the Under-14 Soccer Tournament on Sunday.

The purpose of this one-day tournament was to create awareness against substance abuse and crime in the Ward 21 community.

The four teams that participated in this awareness tournament were Vaal Gardens Sports Academy, Sebokeng Ajax FC, C20 FC and Sebokeng Italian Jobs FC. Despite the dusty wind, these youngsters enjoyed each and every moment of action with handful community members of Zone 10 coming to support this initiative. Italian Jobs FC were crowned the tournament champions after they beat Vaal Gardens Sports Academy 3-1 in a nail-biting final.

It was talent galore with both teams displaying exciting football.

The game went to interval with Italian Jobs FC leading 2-0 and in the second half they increased the tally to 3-1. However, Grands Sports Academy reduced the score to 3-1 but it was too late for them to come back.

Katleho Kgobotlo was named the Player of The Tournament after helping his team to lift the trophy.

Ward 21 Councillor Sbongile Naapo was among the guests who was invited to be part of this initiative. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport at the end of the games, Mohau Kolisa and Gift Gama who represented the two organisations hailed this event as a great success. The tournament was sponsored by Tloholo Abdulllah with trophies and food.

“We want to thank the Ward 21 community for their positive support this event. We achieved our objective to create awareness against substance abuse through sports,” they told Sedibeng Ster Sport in the joined interview.
