Libalele Malatha celebrates with community

Teenage pregnancy, high school dropouts, drugs usage were some of the topics discussed.

MEYERTON.-  In celebration of Youth Day, the Libalele Malatha Health and Community Organization held a fun day on Youth Day Youth Day.

This was meant  to help and assist the less fortune and to bring communities together, in Riverdale, Meyerton. The main aim was also to teach kids and youth the history of South Africa, and the sacrifices and ultimate price paid by young people in the 70’s.

Libalele Malatha Health and Community Organisation is an organisation that was founded by Sibongile Dlamini back in 2017 to alleviate the societal ills that plagued the community.

On the day of the event there were speakers who motivated the youth, reminding them that no matter how hard it may be, they must ‘push’ because youth of Riverdale have lost their ways, and they have no direction.

Teenage pregnancy, high school dropouts, drugs usage were some of the topics discussed.

Dlamini said, “We are in partnership with different departments, for referrals in cases that need professional attention of qualified individuals. We do follow up on referral cases until people receive proper assistance. During workshops period senior citizens are offered proper meals and refreshment. We also offer support to senior citizens in form of food parcels, blankets, toiletries, feeding scheme, and soup kitchen to alleviate the burden they face, of having to cope with many grand children on such a small amount of money.”

The organisation is looking for sponsors or anyone who is will to donate food parcels or clothes for the needy as this will ensure that there is no abuse and neglect on children and elderly.
