“I want to thank everyone who made this day a success, especially the  Vaal Jeep Cartel for their generosity."

BOIPATONG.-  There was hive of activities when Lebohang Secondary School celebrated Youth Day recently.

The programme started at the school assembly area where the sponsors and organisers of the event “Cartel JEEPERS in Gauteng” made the donations.

It was no just a celebration but a day the grades 12 learners will never forget as they received lap tops and 50 mattresses from Gartel Jeepers in Gauteng to assist them for evening classes. This also included goodies bags, motivational talks and guidelines on how to apply at different tertiary institutions. The Boipatong township also came to a standstill when more than 50 jeep cars drove around to the streets to the sports ground where there learners participated in various activities such as Sarafina dance and soccer.

These activities were meant to celebrate the Youth Day as June is known as a youth month.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Amelia Komane who is the Sedibeng West Regional Coordinator in the office of Chief Director, Victor Thetha said that it was a memorable day for the learners.

“I want to thank everyone who made this day a success, especially the  Vaal Jeep Cartel for their generosity. I would also like to thank the entire community who came in numbers to support this initiative. It was the first of its kind to be held in Sedibeng with the Cartel Jeepers putting a smile on the grades 12 learners. This will go down as one of the best events we have hosted in our area to empower the learners,” she told Sedibeng Ster.
